Our Foundation
At Dive Christian Church, we believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word and the foundation for everything we teach and do. While we don’t expect everyone to have every answer, we invite you to explore God’s truth with us as we grow together in Christ.
God
We believe there is one true God who created all things and continues to rule over His creation.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 1:1, 2:7
The Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word and our final authority for faith, truth, and daily living.
“All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Humanity
We believe every person is created in God’s image but has sinned and is in need of His grace.
“As it is written: There is noone righteous, not even one….For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” Romans 3:10,23
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven. One day, He will return.
“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man…” Philippians 2:5-8
“Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign: the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3
“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” Acts 1:11
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s presence living within every believer, guiding, comforting, and empowering us to follow Christ.
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever, the Spirit of truth….you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:16-17
Salvation
We believe salvation is made possible through Jesus Christ alone. We respond to God’s grace through faith, repentance, and baptism.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38
“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16
The Church
We believe the Church is the family of God, called to worship Him, grow together, serve others, and share the hope of Jesus with the world.
“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15
Eternity
We believe Jesus will return, and every person will spend eternity either in the presence of God or separated from Him.
“Jesus said, ‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3
“Then the king will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world…Then he will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” Matthew 25:34, 41; Revelation 20:11-15
