Brent Steele
Brent loves teaching the word and he believes he gets to learn something new every time he prepares a new lesson. He is a husband to Sally, the father of 4 adult sons, and a grandfather to 10 grandkids. He has practiced law since 1972 and served 20 years in the Indiana Legislature (8 in the House of Representatives and 12 in the Senate).
Brent’s favorite hobby is hunting and competition shooting of black powder muzzle loading firearms. He is the past president of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.
This Sunday school class started out as the “Young Marrieds” class… 27 years ago. When the church did remodeling the seniors who regularly met in the sanctuary had no place to go when the sanctuary was closed. They asked if they could come to Brent’s class and he obviously said yes. That, coupled with the fact that now everyone is 27 years older, the class is a mix of people in all walks of life.
Brent started the class when he was 51 years old and he had a life’s experience of seeing young families go through divorce, so he knew the pitfalls and what usually caused problems in those marriages. He believed he would be able to impart some life lessons which is the preface of the class.
